Typically, we recommend coming in for an exam and cleaning at least every 6 months (although we may recommend more checkups based on your individual health). This interval allows us to regularly check for any cavities and gives you an opportunity to bring any concerns to our attention.
A dental crown/bridge appointment usually consists of 2 seperate appointments. The first is a longer appointment where Dr. Shah will prepare your teeth for the crown/bridge, take impressions, and make a temporary crown/bridge so you can see what your final teeth will look like! You will use the temporary teeth for about 2 weeks while the lab prepares the final crown. The final appointment is a shorter appointment where Dr. Shah will cement in the final crown and check to see if everything fits and looks good. In total, the entire process will take about 3 weeks.

Highly acidic foods/drinks can wear down your enamel (the hard and protective layer of your teeth), causing sensitivity and other dental issues. Drinking highly sugary drinks such as soda, fruit juices and sports drinks throughout the day is also a major cause of decay. Coffee and tea may also cause external staining of your teeth.
We do offer Invisalign at our office, but do not do offer traditional braces.
The best way to prevent cavities and tooth decay is to brush with fluoridated toothpaste and floss at least twice a day, modify your diet to include less sugar, and regularly visit your dentist for cleanings and exams to catch any early signs of decay before they progress.

Your first dental appointment with us will generally consist of a comprehensive exam which includes x-rays and a full evaluation of your mouth. This will allow Dr. Shah to come up with a treatment plan that is best for you and is an opportunity for you to share your concerns and goals for treatment. The appointment usually lasts about an hour. Call us to schedule your appointment with us!
There are many procedures to replace missing teeth such as bridges, implants, and partial/full dentures. However, not every option is right for every person. Schedule an appointment with us to find out which option will work best for your needs!
Regular dental check-ups allow us to catch and prevent any signs of cavities or decay before they get deep enough to cause any pain. Getting regular professional cleanings also help prevent any cavities and gum disease. Also, regular visits are an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have about your oral health and for you and Dr. Shah to discuss the goals of your treatment.
A root canal is a procedure where a dentist cleans out infected pulp (the innermost part of the tooth) and places medicine and a filling material inside the tooth. It is necessary when cavities and decays have gotten into the deepest part of your tooth where the blood vessels and nerves are, causing pain and inflammation inside and around the tooth. The root canal saves your tooth from needing an extraction and resolves the pain and inflammation so you can keep your natural tooth for many more years!
